Speaking to the press conference yesterday the assistant director for JKCI, Dr Peter Kisenge, said Tanzania is the first country in East and Central Africa to perform the bypass surgery.
Dar es Salaam. The Jakaya Kikwete Cardiac Institute (JKCI) and the BLK Hospital from India at the first time have conducted a bypass surgery without using heart-lung machine. The medical equipment replaces heart and lungs when stopped for surgery.
